Who We Are

A place to come home to yourself.

The Farmette Collective exists to create space for rest, reconnection, and renewal through land, food, animals, and community.

Whether you come for a meal, a moment of quiet, an overnight stay, or a deeper experience - this is a place to exhale.

Our Journey

The Farmette Collective was born from a dream to share the special energy of this land with as many individuals seeking sanctuary as possible. From chickens and pigs to overnight guests, immersives and retreat participants, and volunteers, everyone is invited to experience the healing properties of what is possible here.

When people ask us how we found this place, we share that this place found us. At a moment of time when Sanj had been out of the workplace due to extreme depression and burnout for over six months and when Nai was working at all hours of the day and navigating challenging health realities, the universe conspired to help us slow down and refocus our priorities. On a cold Friday afternoon in December, Sanj received an email out of the blue from a realty company recommending a farmhouse on 20 acres in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut.

Despite navigating a rocky patch in our relationship when we thought that divorce was a possibility, Sanj and Nai decided on a whim to make the hour-long drive from Boston the next day to visit the property.

As we pulled into the windy, gravel, driveway, Sanj felt herself take a deep breath. In fact, she breathed more deeply than she had in years. When Nai witnessed this shift in her sense of aliveness, which increased as they explored the property, she welcomed the high levels of fear that accompany such a major life shift, and agreed to move our family and build toward a better future.

When it came time to attempt to find the right name for this space, Sanj's father offered, "The Farmette" - a farm, a boutique one with femme-energy (-ette is a diminutive in French used for feminine objects).

Part of Sanj's healing journey included volunteering at a farm animal sanctuary near Boston. She leveraged her experience there and the expert mentoring she received to open up a small sanctuary at the Farmette. Chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, a horse, and pigs are residents who have been welcomed to their forever home.

And then we decided to start renting out our in-law studio so guests from near and far could step away from their busy lives and find some solace in the hot tub, on a walk in the forest, reading in a hammock, or connecting with the animals.

From their very first visit, Sanj immediately imagined hosting retreats at the Farmette, with grand dreams to renovate the third floor of the barn and building tiny cabins throughout the property for at least 10 folks to be able to stay overnight.

Rather than wait until the full dream comes to fruition, Nai and Sanj decided to start hosting daylong retreats in the Great Room of the main house for organizations and groups looking for a unique and tailored gathering experience. Participants remark on the power of stepping into this space and being able to access more calm, centered, and wise parts of themselves during their time here.

In 2026 we launched Daylong Immersive Experiences, adding a wood fired sauna in the forest, red light therapy, and Nai's culinary skills to our offerings. â€‹

Today, the Farmette Collective is a living ecosystem. Part retreat space, part working farm, part kitchen, part sanctuary for the soul.

And most of all, it’s a place where you can exhale and come home to yourself.
